What to Expect

WHO IS LIFE COMMUNITY CHURCH?

Pastor Tim and Harriet Blevins dreamed of planting a church that would help people find the life God wants them to have. 1 John 5:12 says, “He who has the son has life.” This verse sparked a passion in their hearts to unconditionally love people and start a church that would lead people to life.

With the help of some friends, LifeCC was launched on Easter Sunday, 2004. It probably wasn’t considered a great start to a dream come true because on week two, only eleven people were present to worship the Lord, but that didn’t put a stop to the quietly growing movement. As the church met in their first space, Bradley Creek Elementary, they continued to grow into a faithful group of believers who pioneered the movement. In 2009, we relocated into a very unique location inside Independence Mall. Our attendance doubled from an average of 200 people to over 400 people in one week.

LifeCC has always been what Pastor Tim says is both “attractional and spirit-filled.” We focus on creating a very welcoming, non-threatening environment for our guests and a place where the Holy Spirit empowers us for life and ministry. Also, we place a high value on relationships through small groups and helping people discover their purpose in life.

Today, LifeCC is still growing. We invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when the focus is simple and people are free to go after God with passion!

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

You can expect to find LifeCC to be a very friendly church where you will connect with God through worship, communion, prayer and God’s Word. You can also expect to meet many other down-to-earth people of different ages, races, and backgrounds seeking to grow in their relationship with God.

Our services last about an hour and fifteen minutes; people wear casual clothes and we have free coffee brewed and ready for you. We also have childrens' ministries that will love and serve your children.

Drop by our VIP Information Center when you arrive and we will be glad to show you around and help your visit be a great one.

WHERE DO WE MEET?

Address: 3500 Oleander Dr. Wilmington, NC 28403

Our church has a very exciting location unlike any other church that we have seen; we are located inside Independence Mall. We have over 21,000 square feet of space that houses our auditorium, kids' ministries, and offices. On Sundays, we have our own entrance to our church that is located beside the Sears building on Oleander Dr. Our innovative approach to integrating the church with the community is a powerful tool for ministry.

WHEN DO WE MEET?

Sunday mornings at 9:15am and 11:00am.

WHY CHURCH?

Hebrews 10:25
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another…

It is unwise to separate your relationship with God from His body of believers. The church is a place where you will be strengthened, encouraged, built-up, taught, cared for, and a place for you to corporately experience mission together. We are better together. You can think of belonging to your church as being like a coal which needs to be near other coals to remain hot. If you separate one of the coals from the rest, it will lose its heat and burn out. People who are separated from a body of believers will be like a coal separated from the fire and will lose their passion. Yes, you can be a Christian without the church, but you will never reach your fullest potential in God without belonging to a local church.
